On 30 October 2014 a meeting of Working Group 1 (WG 1) “Location referencing” was held by conference call, chaired by WG Leader Stephen T’Siobbel of TomTom. Eight members attended the call. The previous meeting was held on 5 May 2014 (also by conference call).
The topics discussed included: status of and planning for the WG 1 deliverables for 2014; the OpenLR session held at the ITS World Congress in September; the potential relevance of location referencing methods in the context of improved positioning based on landmarks for highly automated driving use cases; the ongoing work on location referencing at the University of Stuttgart; the need to check for funding opportunities for further work on location referencing; the general status of TN-ITS and its activities; the Transportation Pilot; the progress of the TN-ITS standardisation efforts; and the upcoming TN-ITS joint WG meeting on 29 January 2015.
