TN-ITS will be presenting at the 9th DATEX II User Forum, scheduled for October 9-11, 2024, in Bucharest, Romania. The forum, an insightful gathering for the DATEX II community, is set to gather experts and newcomers alike for three days of interactive sessions, presentations, and workshops, fostering discussions around the latest innovations in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
This year’s forum will address a broad spectrum of topics, from the impact of emerging technologies and regulations to the challenges of cybersecurity and data trust in traffic management systems, in addition to implementations and trends that are shaping the Mobility Data Ecosystem, including partnerships such as C-Roads, TISA, and C2C.
TN-ITS sessions
TN-ITS will host three sessions that will explore its strategic role in shaping the future of ITS data integration. The highlight of TN-ITS’s contribution is the announcement of the finalized merger with DATEX II, a milestone that marks the alignment of two key platforms under the broader NAPCORE initiative.
Session 1: The Merger of DATEX II and TN-ITS
This session will focus on the implications of the merger, specifically highlighting the roadmap for integration, with TN-ITS standards set for deployment in alignment with EU Delegated Regulation (DR 2022-670) by 2025. Speakers will explain how the unification of these two systems streamlines data exchange processes and provides a clearer path toward CEN standardization. Attendees can also expect to hear about the Declaration of Lisbon, a strategic document shaping the vision for future cooperation.
Session 2: Regulatory and Standardization Developments
The second TN-ITS session will cover the regulatory aspects affecting ITS data exchange, including the ongoing revision of the ITS Directive and the significant changes introduced by DR 2022-670. Moreover, the discussion will emphasize how to use the TN-ITS standard in relation to the latest version of DATEX II, with a practical demo showcasing how users can find and deploy these data standards.
Session 3: Service Acceleration and Best Practices
TN-ITS’s final session will look at how NAPCORE and TN-ITS are driving the acceleration of services by sharing best practices from several European countries, including Flanders, Hungary, and Spain. Testimonials from service providers like HERE will illustrate how TN-ITS standards improve data quality. The session will also look at the long-term standardization roadmap for TN-ITS in the DATEX II context.
Looking Forward
Forum attendees will gain critical insights into the standards that will drive Europe’s mobility infrastructure in the coming years, exploring both short-term and long-term benefits for all stakeholders involved.
The forum will also offer TN-ITS the opportunity to engage with policy makers, data service providers, and transport operators, building connections that are vital for the advancement of European ITS initiatives.
